The build up has intensified ahead of the hugely anticipated Yucateco Emirate Pan-African boxing title fight. The contest prime to headline week 11 hostilities of the Yucateco boxing league Season 2, will hold at the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin Kwara state on Friday 9th November.
The Pan-African title fight card will see Nigeria’s Daniel Joshua light up the squared ropes against Kodah Kofi of Benin Republic in the men’s 71kg. Joshua, currently unbeaten in the ongoing Yucateco boxing league said he hopes to make a light work of his Benin opponent.
” i saw Kofi fight at the first Yucateco Pan-African championship in Togo In June and i must say he’s a decent boxers, however, i want to assure Nigeria’ns and the people of Ilorin Kwara state that i am going to knock him out at the Emir’s Palace”
Other contest on the night will see Apollinaira Sioux of Benin file out against Nigeria’s Akintola David in a 75kg contest, while Togo’s Pauline Assogba will trade-punches against Nigeria’s Hauwa Ogumodede in the female category.
Technical Director of the Yucateco boxing promotions Babatunde Laguda said said all is set for the showdown in Ilorin and the entire continent should be on the lookout for another Yucateco masterclass.

It will be recalled that Nigeria’s Abdulwahab Abdulrahman and Precious Anine defeated Egypt’s Hagar Elsayed and Mostafa Hafez in the Yucateco boxing Pan-African title contest staged in Uzebba Luleha, in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo in August.
