14th Biennial Police Games: Mariam Adedun Strikes Gold

Iron lady, Mariam Adedun has won her first gold medal in boxing at the on going Police Games in Ibadan.

The no nonsense Adedun totally outclassed her opponent through a knock out to emerge victorious in the fight.

“I thank God, my coaches, family, fans and friends for this win, Adedun told us immediately after the contest.

“The way the win came shows that I still have it in me.

“I’m happy I showed my class to silence my doubters.

“This is just the beginning of better things to come”, she concluded

This year’s Police games has over 4,000 officers taking part according to officials.

The games commenced in the Oyo state capital, Ibadan from February 24 and it will hold till March 2.

The game is tagged ‘Oluyole 2024’ and the game’s theme is: ‘Competing for Peace, Unity, Stability and Development of Nigeria’.

Meanwhile, 17 contingents from the 17 Zonal Commands in the force is competing at the biennial event that also feature sports contingents from sister security agencies and departments.

Recall that the 13th Biennial Police Games was held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, from November 23 to 30, 2022.
