14th Biennial Police Games:Mariam Adedun Bags 3 Medals

Multi- talented athlete, boxer cum Police officer, Mariam Adedun bagged three medals at the just concluded 14th Biennial Police Games in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The hard-fighting iron lady won a gold in boxing, a silver in athletics and a bronze in volley ball to underline her dexterity and using it to make a statement of her readiness to rule Africa.
Adedun, received a rousing ovation during the grand finale of the games with the Inspector General of Police (IG) amongst the top dignitaries at the stand in the stadium.
“I feel highly elated and honoured with my achievement, she told our reporter immediately after the games.
“I want to thank God almighty, my coaching staff, Nigerian Police force, my family and my fans for everything. This is for all of them.
“It could have been better but I appreciate everyone for all the support, the ovation and confidence in me.
“I will keep working hard until I achieve my set targets”, she concluded.
Adedun will be engaging the female African boxing champion sometime in the year in a contest which she has vowed to dethrone the current queen.
