2023 AFCON: Ivory Coast High-Delegation Storm CAF Headquarters In Cairo

Ivory Coast continues its preparations for the hosting of the 2023 African Cup Of Nations despite the postponement of the tournament to 2024, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The competition which was initially slated to hold in the summer of 2023, has to be postponed to January/February 2024 due to the weather condition of the West African country.

In order to have a successful showing in the tournament, the country’s high delegation on Wednesday evening arrived at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

They are in Cairo for a 3-day workshop organised to have successful hosting of the competition.

The delegation was led by the president of the Local Organising Committee, Francois Amechea and the Ivorian Football Federation president, Idris Diallo.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches are currently being organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to decide the participating teams of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the 34th edition of the international men’s football championship of Africa. A total of 24 teams will qualify to play in the final tournament, including Ivory Coast, who qualify automatically as hosts.

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen is the highest goal scorer in the qualifier with five goals.
