2023 AFCON Qualifier: Osimhen to lead Super Eagles attack Vs Sierra Leone

Victor Osimhen will lead the Super Eagles attack in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on Thursday.

The encounter is billed for the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

Cyriel Dessers led the line in the team’s friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador, but will now make way for the Napoli striker against the Leone Stars.

According to camp sources, Osimhen has shone in all the team’s training session and is certain to get the nod ahead of the other strikers.

Osimhen has been the team’s leading marksman since Odion Ighalo retired from international football after the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt.

Umar Sadiq, who plays for LaLiga club, Almeria, is the other striker in the team.

The Super Eagles will have their final training session ahead of the game at the practise pitch of the Moshood Abiola Stadium on Wednesday evening.
