The Super Eagles contingent has arrived safely in Bissau for Monday’s AFCON 2023 qualifier against Guinea Bissau’s Wild Dogs.
The Super Eagles who departed Abuja on Sunday morning arrived at the Aeroporto Internacional Osvaldo Vieira in Guinea Bissau in the afternoon.
The Super Eagles contingent was immediately checked into their hotel after undergoing passport formalities at the arrival lounge.
Recall, it was a disappointing showing from the three times AFCON champions who on Friday lost the 1st leg of the AFCON 2023 qualifier at the Moshood Abiola Stadium via a lone goal to the Wild Dogs.
Mama Samba Balde broke the deadlock for Djurtus at the half-hour mark after he made the most of a lob pass from his skipper, to score the only goal of the game.
The victory saw the Wild Dogs go on top of the Super Eagles as Group A leaders on 7 points, after two wins and a draw, while Nigeria is second with 6 points from two wins and a defeat, from the same number of matches.
The Super Eagles will hope to make amends by beating the Wild Dogs and retain the group’s top spot, as they battle Guinea Bissau in a must-win game at the Estádio 24 de Setembro.
