We beat them in middle of Ramadan fast – Morocco coach mocks Brazil after 2-1 win

Morocco head coach, Walid Regragui has mocked Brazil after the North Americans beat the South Americans in a friendly match on Saturday.

He said despite their Ramadan fast, they were able to be the world football giants.

Morocco beat Belgium, Spain and Portugal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup but was eliminated from the tournament by finalists France in the semifinal.

The Atlas Lions earned a 2-1 victory over Brazil in their first game since the World Cup with Sofiane Boufal and Abdelhamid Sabiri scoring for them while Casemiro netted for the visitors.

Speaking after the match Regragui pointed out that it had only been hours since his players broke their Ramadan fast and completed the Tarawih prayer when they took to the field.

He said this made the win against Brazil much sweeter.

“We beat Brazil, in the middle of Ramadan, after the Tarawih prayer, It’s crazy!” he tweeted.
