2023 AFCONQ: We want to make Nigerians happy – Musa speaks ahead Super Eagles vs Guinea-Bissau

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa insists the team will strive to make Nigerians happy by securing victory against Guinea-Bissau on Friday.

The West Africans will look to further improve their chances of earning a spot at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals when they take on the Djurtus in a matchday three encounter at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

At around this time in 2022, the Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by the Black Stars of Ghana missing out on a place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Musa, who currently plays for Turkish Super Lig club Sivasspor, claimed that the team has put that disappointment behind them.

“We know what happened a year ago here against Ghana. That is behind us now. This is the AFCON qualifier and we want to make the fans happy,” Musa said.

“We know the hardship that is currently going on in the country and football is the only thing that unites Nigerians. We want to make them happy”.

The Super Eagles top Group B with six points from two games, while Guinea-Bissau are in second position with four points from same number of matches.
