2023 FIFA WWC: It’ll Be Tough Against Nigeria, Others – Australia’s Coach

The head coach of the Australian women’s team Tony Gustavsson has said it will be difficult to play against Nigeria’s Super Falcons and others in the group.

The world soccer governing body on Saturday conducted the draw for the competition and Australia was drawn in group B alongside Nigeria, Canada and the Republic of Ireland.

While reacting to the draw, the coach said they were drawn against the top teams from the pots.

“It’s all about the opening game, we want to start the tournament as strong as possible,” Gustavsson said. We drew the top-ranked opponent in Pot 2, the third-ranked opponent in Pot 3 and the top-ranked opponent in Pot 4.

“It’s a tough draw, but if you look at a bracket, and you look at a tournament, there are no easy games in this tournament, so it’s all about knowing who you’re facing and preparing the best way possible,” he said.

Australia will face the Republic of Ireland in their opening match before tackling Canada and Nigeria later in the tournament.
