Eguavoen

Former Super Eagles coach, Augustine Eguavoen has hailed the Super Falcons of Nigeria for playing a 0-0 draw against Canada in the 2023 FIFA Women World Cup group stage tie on Friday morning.

Eguavoen described Super Falcons’ goalless draw against Canada as a solid point.

The former international, however, wished Randy Randy Waldrum’s side all the best in the rest of their group matches.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle after the game, Eguavoen wrote: “Solid point against Canada for our Queens. All the best for the rest of the group games.”

DAILY POST reports that Chiamaka Nnadozie saved from the penalty spot ensured the Super Falcons held Olympic champions Canada to a 0-0 draw at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

Nigeria finished the game with 10 women after Deborah Abiodun was sent off late on for a poor challenge.

The Super Falcons will take on co-hosts Australia in their next game on Thursday, July 27, while Canada will tackle Republic of Ireland the same day.
