Heavily reliable and respected Senior special assistant on grassroots sports development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka has expressed shock over the news of the death of former Super Eagles legendary goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, who slept in the Lord on Thursday, aged 61
In response to the tragic news, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, released a heartfelt tribute on behalf of the Presidency.
He described Rufai as a “symbol of hope, dedication, and passion for the beautiful game,” whose heroic presence in goal inspired a generation of footballers .
Rufai’s storied career spanned over two decades, during which he made 65 appearances for Nigeria—commonly known as the Super Eagles.
