Ademola’s Atalanta And Osimhen’s Napoli Fined For Discriminatory Chants

The unacceptable act of fans in the Matchday 13 fixture involving Atalanta and Napoli will not go unnoticed and reprimanded by the league governing as both Atalanta and Napoli have been fined for derogatory chants.

Napoli cruised to a 2-1 after Victor Osimhen responded quickly to Ademola Lookman’s lead for Atalanta before Eljif Emas got the winner in the first half.

It was also a game marred with derogatory chants that have become commonplace in Italian football. In light of new developments, both teams have been fined by the Sports Judge.

And According to the latest reports from Italian news agency ANSA (via TuttoAtalanta and the Cult of Calcio), a fine of €12,000 has been handed to La Dea for ‘repeatedly raining insulting chants of territorial origin, as well as outrageous chants of religious origin.’

They have also been fined €3,000 for ‘directing insulting chants towards the match director’, along with €10,000 for fans ‘throwing various objects on the pitch towards the opposition players, especially during their goal celebrations.

Napoli on the other hand has been fined €5,000 for the Partenopei fans singing ‘insulting choruses aimed at Gian Piero Gasperini’.
