AFCON 2023: ‘We’re hungry’ – Super Eagles Ajayi issues warning to Angola

Nigeria defender Semi Ajayi has warned Angola that the Super Eagles are hungry for a victory when both teams clash in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, on February 2.

Ajayi gave the warning after Nigeria defeated Cameroon 2-0 in the AFCON Round of 16 on Saturday.

The centre-back, who has been a stalwart in the Super Eagles’ defence, said Jose Peseiro’s side will give their all against Angola.

“The focus turns towards Friday and towards the next game. This game is done, and now we put our full focus towards Friday,” Ajayi told Soccernet.

“The boys are hungry; we are looking to give our all, and we are really looking forward to the game.

“Now we will start to study our opponents, start to analyse how they play and form our game plan. Hopefully, that will get us the win on Friday.”
