Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse has lamented that his team lost track after scoring an early goal against Ivory Coast during both teams’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, round of 16 clash against Ivory Coast on Monday night.
Cisse also refused to draw a clear picture about his future with the team, leaving the door open for uncertainty.
Goals from Habib Diallo and Frank Yannick Kessie ensured both teams played a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.
However, the Elephants won 5-4 on penalty shoot-out to qualify for the last-8.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Cisse said, “We will see what the future has in store for us. First, I want to digest this defeat because everyone is disappointed.
“There will surely be discussions with the federation, but my future doesn’t matter at the moment.”
He added, “Disappointed with the result for my players, for our people because we came to win this CAN. There were a lot of game facts that I won’t go into.
“Too bad we lost track after opening the score. But in victory as in defeat, you have to remain dignified, and I am proud of my players.”
