Ghana finished bottom of Group C as they crashed out of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-2 defeat to Comoros
El Fardou Ben Nabouhane scored Comors’ first ever goal after just four minutes, before Andre Ayew was given a red card for a challenge on the goalkeeper.
That left Ghana with 10 man and it got worse for the Black Stars when Ahmed Mogni doubled the lead after which Richmond Boakye got one back for ghana and Alexander Djiku equalised scored the second goal to give their side hope.
But Mogni grabbed his second on the break as Comoros condemned Ghana to their first group-stage exit at the tournament since 2006.
Goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott failed to deal with a cross into the box, allowing Comoros to stay on the attack. It was worked back to Mogni on the edge of the box, who turned into space before sending a shot into the far corner.
That looked to be Ghana’s tournament over, but Richmond Boakye headed home from a corner four minutes after coming on to halve the deficit and keep his country’s feint hopes alive.
The black star would have fancied their chances to snatch a miraculous winner at that point, but in search of one they left themselves incredibly exposed at the back and Comoros took full advantage.
