Former Super Eagles striker, Benedict Akwuegbu has praised the laudable achievements of Plateau State governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang describing him as one of the best governors in Nigeria’s history.
Akwuegbu, who is the Consultant to the governor on Sports, spoke from his base in the UK on a radio program, Suplus Sports on Peace FM 90.5, Jos anchored by Pam Doyle, which Sportsday monitored.
According to the ex-international who is a graduate of Mental Health and currently doing his Masters in the same course at the Anglia Ruskin University, London, Mutfwang is a great achiever who has taken particularly Sports to a whole different level in Plateau State.
“My appreciation goes to the best Sports loving governor in Nigeria, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the enviable work he is doing in the whole of Plateau State particularly in Sports”.
His exemplary leadership is amazing, intimidating.and unmatchable”.
“He’s the best governor in Nigeria by miles but he really doesn’t make noise about it”, Akwuegbu stressed.

The ‘Austrian Bomber’ as Akwuegbu was fondly called by his passionate fans during his illustrious career, revealed his efforts so far to reposition Plateau United which is his place of primary assignment by making it a global brand.
“I have so far gotten some clubs in Europe which we can do corporation with in the areas of players exchange, ideas exchange, sponsorship, training and retraining of our coaches and technical staff amongst others”.
“My focus is to see more Plateau United players travel abroad to play. I’m looking at the bigger picture, because when these players make it in Europe, they can help their family and friends and also be able fo invest in Plateau State”, he stated.
Akwuegbu however called on more support from fans and the good people of Plateau State for Plateau United despite the team sitting precariously in relegation waters, reaffirming the confidence that the team will bounce back.
“I have no doubt that Plateau United will bounce back to where they truly belong. The General Manager is doing a great job and the coaches are experienced.
“They even have the likes of Patrick Mancha who played the game, which I believe they know what to do to sway the tide in the second round to Plateau United’s favour”.
“My appeal is for the fans and good people of Plateau State to continue to throw their full weight behind the club”, Akwuegbu concluded.
