All Nigerian Football Players Union (ANFPU) Visits Family Of Late Ben Alaiya

The All Nigeria Football Players Union (ANFPU) on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the family of late sports journalist and former Super Eagles Media Officer, Ben Alaiya, in Lagos.

Speaking during the visit, the union’s Board of Trustees Chairman/National Coordinator, Chikelue Iloenyosi, said the death of Alaiya was a big shock to Nigerian sporting family and asked God for the repose of his soul.

“We are still shock at the news of the death of our brother and friend, Ben Alaiya”. “A man who was unassuming and ready to help when called upon”. “He was a man of honour who gave his all in the development of football in the country” “We and the entire football fraternity in Nigeria will surely miss him”.

Iloenyosi also asked the family to take solace in God over the death of the Edo-born journalist, promising that the union would continue to give support to in time of need.

“We know how painful his death is to you. But, I urge you to be strong and take solace in the Lord who gives and takes”. “As a union, we would always be around to show support whenever we are called upon”

Other members of the union who were on the visit include Francis Feregene Agbata, Monday Kanu, Mrs Shola Otis, Mathias Enebeli and Sam Otis.

The late Alaiya died on October 6,, 2021, after a brief illness.

Until his death, was the Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria”s sports tabloid, Sportsday Publishing Company Limited.
