All Nigerian Football Players Union Visits Princess Jegede To Appreciate Her Role In Women Football Development

The All Nigerian Football Players Union (ANFPU) on Thursday paid a visit to the Founder of Women football in Nigeria, Princess Bola Ngozi Jegede, to appreciate the role she played in raising the profile of women game in the country.

Leading other members of the union on.the.visit, ANFPU Board of Trustees Chairman/National Coordinator, Chikelue Iloenyosi, spoke glowingly of Jegede who he described as the mother of Nigerian women soccer.

“We are here today to show you recognize and appreciate you for the great work you have done for Nigeria”.

“You took women football from the scratch and made it a success. Today, women football in Nigeria has gained recognition worldwide because of your dedication and sacrifice which you carried out by spending your personal resources to help it grow”.

We thank you very much for your unequaled feat”.

While appreciating the union for finding time to pay her the all-important visit, Princes Jegede, acknowledged the rising profile of the Iloenyosi-led football union and prayed for its continuous growth.

“Words alone remain inadequate to describe the joy I feel to see you here today”. “I’m truly grateful for this gesture and will always remember you in my prayers”.

Speaking on the role she played in the development of women football in the country, Jegede said she is overjoyed with the way the game has grown astronomically”.

“The journey I have been through with women football has been selfless and also full of tribulations”. “I have no regrets whatsoever, but, confident that what i have laid for the country in terms of the game will continue to be appreciated by good spirited Nigerians”, said Jegede.

Other members of the union who were on the visit include Monday Kalu, Mrs. Shola Otis, Sam Otis, Larry Kubanje, Mathias Enebeli and Frankie Omokhua.
