Anthony Nwaekeme Inspires Saudi Arabia Club Pick First League Win

Date:

Nigeria striker Anthony Nwakaeme was instrumental in his Saudi club side, Al Feiha latest outing as they recorded their first victory of the season in a 2-1 away win over Al Khaleej on Thursday.

The gruelling Saudi Premier League encounter played at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium saw Nwakaeme scored one and assisted another in the important win.

After his side were gifted an advantage, the Nigerian stepped in to score from the penalty spot to hand Al Feiha the lead inside 17th minute of the game.

Albania striker Sokol Cikalleshi missed the chance to put the hosts back on level terms as he failed to imitate Nwakaeme from same situation.

However, Al Khaleej equalized early into second half as they forced Al Faehi defender, Sami Al Khaibari to turn the ball into his own net.

With the zeal and determination to end their eight games winless run, Al Feiha upped their game moments after and got the needed winner.

Nwakaeme became the provider for the goal that pushed Al Feiha out of bottom place as he fed Sultan Madash to finish off perfectly.

The victory has however moved Vuk Rašović’s side from relegation spot of 15th to a more comfortable 13th on the log.

Al Feiha will hope to consolidate on that away win when they host Al Taee on Boxing Day.

The 33-year old Nigerian who previously suited up for Petrolul, Universa Cluj, Hapoel Raanana, Hapoel Beer Sheva and Tranbospor joined Al Feiha at the start of current campaign has now scored four goals and provided one assist.
