Aribo awaits new coach at Southampton

Three days after the sack of Ralph Hasenhüttl, Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo is awaiting the arrival of a new coach at Southampton.
Hasenhüttl was asked to leave on Monday after a disappointing start to the season, ending a four-year relationship between the parties.

Saints have won just three of their 14 Premier League games, with their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle leaving them in the relegation zone.

Hasenhuttl joined Southampton in December 2018, replacing Mark Hughes, and steered the club out of trouble to stay up.

This season, Aribo is among the stars signed by the Austrian to bolster the team and Southampton have considered Gerardo Seoane as a replacement for Hasenhuttl.

First team lead coach Ruben Selles has taken charge of the side on an interim basis for today’s Carabao Cup match against Sheffield and will likely be on the touchline for the trip to Liverpool on Saturday.
