Bayelsa United will unveil their new head coach on Thursday as the club steps up preparations for life in the Nigeria National League (NNL) following its relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Former Flying Eagles coach Abdul Maikaba is expected to be named as the new manager, with the immediate responsibility of rebuilding the squad and guiding the Prosperity Boys back to the NPFL at the first attempt.

Maikaba boasts an impressive coaching résumé, having managed Akwa United, Rangers International, Wikki Tourists, Kano Pillars and several other clubs. He was also recently appointed head coach of the Flying Eagles preparing for the WAFU B U-20 Championship.
Club officials, supporters, stakeholders and members of the media are expected at Thursday’s unveiling ceremony.
