Boniface returns to training at Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen’s Nigerian forward Victor Boniface commenced training on Saturday as part of his recovery process from injury.

Leverkusen shared a snapshot of Boniface in action during training, accompanied by a brief message: “Step by step, @boniface_jrn! We would say…Working!”

The forward is recovering from an abductor injury he sustained during Nigeria’s preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

Boniface’s timely return would be massive boost for head coach Xabi Alonso.

Despite the setback, the 23-year-old forward showcased his prowess in the first half of the season, notching up an impressive tally of 10 goals and seven assists in just 16 games.

Adding to the positive news, Bayer Leverkusen maintains an unbeaten record across all competitions this campaign.
