The Nigeria Boxing Board Of Control NBBOFC is now in a race against time as a suit have been filed before the Federal High Court In Lagos challenging the legitimacy of its operations in Nigeria.

The Suit filed against the board of the NBBOFC with Rafiu Ladipo president, Remi Aboderin Secretary, and Chike llukwe as Ring Director, also have as defendant Tajudeen Sule and the Nigeria Boxing Federation. Others are the National Sports Commission, the Federal Ministry Of Sports Development, the Honourable Minister of Sports as well as the Corperate Affairs Commission.

The Plaintiff Mr. Daniel Afolabi a business man and a boxing promoter is asking the court to halt the operations of the NBBOFC that the has been operating on falsehood and was not duely registered with the Corperate Affairs Commission since its inception. Afolabi’s claims from the Defendants are follows.

  1. A declaration by the honorable court the use of the name Nigeria Boxing Board Of Control NBBOFC to extort and mislead persons and body in Nigeria is illegal and fraudulent.
  2. An Order of the court directing the NBBOFC to produced their certificate of incorporation issued to them by the Corperate Affairs Commission.
  3. An Order of the Court directing the Nigeria Boxing Federation and the Federal Ministry Of Sports to stop delegating their statutory powers to NBBOFC for profit.
  4. An Order of the Court directing the NBBOFC to publish a disclaimer in Five daily newspapers, Five Radio Stations and Three television stations in the country and one international news media that they are not the regulatory body for professional boxing in Nigeria.
  5. An Oder of the Court Directing the Corperate Affairs Commission to produce the Certificate of Incorporation of the NBBOFC.
  6. An Order of the honorable court Awarding the sum of (10,000,000) naira to the Plaintiff Mr. Daniel Afolabi, for the stress and trauma he has gone through in registering his boxers with BOXREC.

The Defendants are to appear at the Federal High Court In Lagos according to the brief.
