CAF Women’s Champions League: Bayelsa Queens to face hosts, AS FAR in semi-final

Date:

Bayelsa Queens will square up against hosts, AS FAR of Morocco in the semi-final of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League on Wednesday.

The Prosperity Girls zoom into the last four after a comfortable 3-0 win against Wadi Degla of Egypt on Sunday night.

Mercy Itimi bagged a brace, while Juliet Sunday scored the other goal for Bayelsa Queens.

It has been a remarkable turnaround for the Nigerian champions, who started the competition on a disappointing note, losing 2-1 to holders, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.

AS FAR defeated another Nigerian club, Rivers United 3-0 at the group stage last year.

Wednesday’s game will be played at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah, Rabat.

Mamelodi Sundowns will face Tanzania Simba Queens in the other semi-final clash.
