Champions League: Arsenal, Chelsea semi-final opponents confirmed

The final four teams in this season’s Women’s Champions League have been confirmed after Thursday matches.

Chelsea eliminated holders Lyon in a penalty shootout at Stamford Bridge.

Maren Mjelde’s last-gasp penalty levelled the tie at 2-2 after goals on the night from Vanessa Gilles and Sara Däbritz.

Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger saved from Wendie Renard and Lindsey Horan to set up a semifinal clash with Barcelona.

Arsenal will play VfL Wolfsburg in the other semi-final, after the Germans played out a 1-1 draw with PSG to go through 2-1 on aggregate.

Alexandra Popp’s goal proved to be crucial at the VW Arena, despite Kadidiatou Diani’s equalizer 10 minutes later for PSG.
