Chelsea: Todd Boehly steps down as Sporting Director, as Blues’ owners make two appointments

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has stepped down as the Blues interim Sporting Director.

The club’s owners have now handed the position to Christopher Vivell and Paul Winstanley.

The duo will oversee transfer activity henceforth.

American billionaire Boehly took over the position after Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech left in the summer.

The Blues’ owners have started bringing in a new management team and have named Vivell as technical director and Winstanley as director of global talent and transfers.

The Telegraph reports that Boehly is now only Chelsea’s chairman as Vivell and Winstanley will lead the Blues’ transfer strategy now.

They were pictured with new signing Benoit Badiashile and were key in his capture.

The duo will be joined by Joe Shields, the co-director of recruitment and talent, and Laurence Stewart.
