Copa America 2024: Argentina Clinches Record 16th Title by Defeating Colombia in Final

Argentina has clinched their 16th Copa America title after defeating Colombia 1-0 in a thrilling final at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday night.

Lautaro Martinez, the tournament’s top scorer, secured the victory with a late extra-time goal in the 112th minute.

Martinez capitalized on a through ball from Giovani Lo Celso, deftly lifting his shot over Colombia goalkeeper Camilo Vargas.

The triumph marks Argentina’s third consecutive major title, following their 2021 Copa America and 2022 World Cup victories.

Remarkably, Lionel Messi, Argentina’s talismanic player, was absent from the decisive match after sustaining a suspected non-contact injury in the 64th minute.

Despite his absence, Argentina showcased their resilience to claim yet another historic Copa America crown.
