Daniel FC Appoints Akanmu Salabiu Abiodun As New Head Coach

Ahead of the 2025/2026 season, Nationwide League One (NLO) club side, Daniel Football Club of Abuja, has appointed experienced Akanmu Salabiu Abiodun as the club’s new Head Coach to bolster their quest for a better outing in the upcoming campaign.

The news of his appointment was broken to the media on Sunday, October 26, 2025, by the club’s Chairman, Daniel Felix, through a signed Press statement which reads: “Daniel Football Club, Abuja is happy to announce the appointment of Akanmu Salabiu Abiodun as our new Head coach.

“His appointment takes immediate effect and he is expected to lead our team in the 2025/2026 NLO season.

“We hope his wealth of experience will help our club make strong challenge in the coming season”, the statement concluded.

Abiodun’s appointment became imminent after the club endured a torrid campaign last season, and it is hoped that his arrival will help stabilise things at the ambitious club.

Coach Abiodun, a former footballer himself, featured for clubs such as: Stationery Stores of Lagos, Ebonyi Angels, Calabar Rovers, 3SC Ibadan, First Bank FC, O.U.K Umuahia, ABS Ilorin and C.O.D Lagos, in the Nigerian league.

He equally played abroad with Baraka SSG of Conakry, Guinea, before his retirement to take to coaching.

As a coach, he has worked with teams such as – Pepsi Academy, De Royal Academy, Otta solo FC amongst others.
