Dayo Dazzles For Akwuegbu FC At Pre- season Tourney

Ben Akwuegbu FC free- scoring striker, Dayo Habib has been in superb form as he keeps dazzling at the Early pre- season football tournament in Jos.
The forward, who is currently leading the top scorer’s chart with 5 goals in 3 matches, has also won two straight man- of-the- match awards at just the group stage in the tournament.

The competition which is held at the 1905 Bukuru mini stadium in Jos is in it’s 4th edition, and is a pre- season tournament for NLO clubs and non- league teams to prepare for a new season, and this year’s edition has not fallen short of expectations.

According to the club proprietor, Ben Akwuegbu who spoke to us exclusively, Dayo scored 2 goals against Dream Big FC, another 2 goals in their second game against Corinthians FC and a goal in their last group game against Mighty Jets FC Feeders to underline his goals scoring credentials.

“We have won our three games in the Early pre- season football tournament where we topped our group with maximum 9 points.
“Our striker Dayo Habib is currently the highest goals scorer with 5 goals in three matches.

“He scored 2 goals against Dream Big in our first game and won the-man-of-the- match-award.

“He also scored another 2 goals in our second match against Corinthians, winning the man-of-the-match award for a second straight time.

“He then crowned it up with a goal in our last group game against Mighty Jets feeder”, Akwuegbu noted.
The tournament organizer, Timman Timothy pyennap also praised Dayo for his goals scoring prowess.

“Dayo Habib is just simply phenomenal. He has netted 5 goals in 3 games and posted a straight two man -of -the-match performances.

“He is a top goals scorer who not only scores but works for the team.

“The sky is his limit if he continues the way he is going”, he said.

Meanwhile, Premier League side Plateau United, NNL sides Nasarawa United and Mighty Jets are interested in signing the player, as many top European clubs are also scrambling for his signature.
