The ongoing Lagos Masters Scouting Tournament, organized by BGSports Management, continues to make headlines as top European scouts commend the quality of organization and raw football talent on display.
Among the notable figures in attendance, Peter Szakal, Head Scout of Hungarian Premier League side Diósgyőri VTK (DVTK), has expressed high admiration for the standard of play and the professional coordination of the event.
Speaking to reporters after witnessing several matches, Peter shared his thoughts on the growing potential of Nigerian footballers.

“I’m really impressed by the level of talent here. You can see players with great technical ability, speed, and strong tactical awareness. What stands out most is their hunger to succeed,” said Szakal.
“The organization has also been excellent — the pitches, logistics, and scheduling have all been handled in a professional way. This is exactly the kind of structure European clubs look for when scouting in Africa.”
Szakal also noted that DVTK is currently following a few promising players from the competition who could be invited for further assessment in Hungary.

“Nigeria continues to produce top players, and tournaments like this make it easier for us to identify and evaluate them. Lagos Masters has set a great example for other scouting events on the continent.”
The Lagos Masters features some of the best U19 teams in Nigeria and has attracted attention from scouts and representatives of clubs across Hungary, Ukraine, Belgium, , including Raal La Louvière, LNZ Cherkasy, FC Oleksandriya, .

According to BGSports CEO, Ikechukwu Jude, the aim of the Lagos Masters is to provide young players with a genuine opportunity to be seen by top European clubs in a transparent and credible platform.
“We are proud that scouts like Peter Szakal and others recognize what we’re doing. Our goal has always been to connect Nigeria’s raw talent to the world stage,” Jude said.
The Lagos Masters continues through the weekend, with final selections expected to be made by Sunday.
