Eagles Tracker: Torunarigha, Onyedika, others shine for clubs 

Sevilla lost further ground in the La Liga standings with a 2-0 home defeat to Girona as the Spanish league entered Matchday Three last weekend. Chidera Ejuke started the match and played the full 90 minutes, while his compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho did not feature.

New Getafe star Chrisantus Uche played the entire match in his club’s goalless home draw with Real Sociedad, who also featured Super Eagles’ Umar Sadiq.

Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka did not make his debut for his loan club Augsburg, who suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to newly promoted Bundesliga side FC Heidenheim.

In another Ligue 1 tie, Gabriel Osho’s Auxerre were beaten 3-1 by Le Havre. It was their second straight loss of the season from three games. They fell to 13th with just three points. Osho was available for 66 minutes before he was replaced.

In Belgium, League reigning champions, Club Brugge spanked city rivals, Cercle Brugge 3-0 with Super Eagles midfielder, Raphael Onyedika on for the entire game’s duration. Club Brugge are now in third spot with 10 points from six games.

In Belgium, Jordan Torunarigha provided an assist for Sven Kums in the 16th minute, but Gent had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Royal Antwerp. Torunarigha was substituted in the 46th minute, while Victor Udoh came on for Royal Antwerp in the 77th minute.

In Scotland, the Old Firm derby saw Celtic dominate Rangers with a 3-0 victory. Super Eagles attacker Cyriel Dessers played for Rangers but failed to score and received a yellow card in the 67th minute. His compatriot, Leon Balogun, was introduced in the 80th minute as Rangers fell to fourth place with seven points from four games.

In England, Tom Dele-Bashiru played the full 90 minutes for Watford, who suffered a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United. This loss ended Watford’s perfect start to the season.

In the United States MLS, former Flying Eagles striker Obinna Nwobodo was part of the FC Cincinnati team that triumphed 4-1 over CF Montreal, where Ibrahim Sunusi was an unused substitute. Nwobodo played the entire match.
