The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has applauded Coach Augustine Eguavoen, Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), on his successful completion of the prestigious FIFA Technical Leadership Diploma Programme.
Coach Eguavoen’s accomplishment was crowned with a convocation ceremony held at the Home of FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland, marking a significant milestone not only in his personal career but also in the continued advancement of football development in Nigeria and Africa at large.
In a statement issued by his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele described the feat as a landmark achievement, noting that Coach Eguavoen was selected among just 32 Technical Directors from across the globe, and notably emerged as one of only two representatives from the African continent.

According to Enabulele, this rare distinction is a clear testament to Coach Eguavoen’s exceptional professionalism, deep technical knowledge, and unwavering commitment to the growth and modernization of football structures.
“Being selected for such an elite FIFA programme and successfully completing it places Coach Augustine Eguavoen among the finest football technical minds in the world. It is an honour not only to him as an individual, but also to Nigeria and Africa as a whole,” Enabulele stated.
He further emphasized that the exposure, global insights, and advanced leadership skills acquired through the programme would greatly enhance technical planning, talent development, and institutional capacity within Nigerian football.
Hon. Enabulele expressed confidence that Coach Eguavoen’s new qualification would translate into improved technical frameworks, stronger youth development pathways, and sustainable football policies that align with global best practices.
The Edo State Sports Commission Chairman also commended FIFA for its continued investment in capacity building for football administrators and technical leaders, stressing that such initiatives are critical to the long-term growth of the sport worldwide.
