The Edo State Sports Commission, led by its Executive Chairman, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, paid a visit to the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, following the passing of his mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, who died at the age of 95.
Speaking during the visit, Enabulele, who attended the event both as a family member and head of the entourage, delegated the responsibility of addressing the family to the Commission’s Functioning Permanent Secretary, Mrs. A.P. Amenze.
Delivering the Commission’s message, Mrs. Amenze conveyed heartfelt sympathies and prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family. She also assured the Deputy Governor of the Commission’s solidarity and support throughout the burial activities, emphasizing the importance of drawing strength from God during this period.

In his response, Rt. Hon. Idahosa expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of goodwill and solidarity. He reflected on the fulfilled life of his late mother, who lived to the age of 95, surpassing the biblical benchmark, and thanked God for her impactful life and enduring legacy.

He shared personal memories, noting that his mother lived with him for 17 years, and acknowledged the emotional weight of her passing.
The Deputy Governor further disclosed that funeral arrangements have been scheduled for May 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2026, adding that the family would formally communicate details to the Commission to ensure full participation.

Idahosa also appreciated the presence of the management, coaches, and players of Edo Queens and Bendel Insurance Football Clubs, commending the remarkable progress in the state’s sports sector. He attributed the growth to the dedication and leadership of the Commission, expressing confidence in Hon. Enabulele’s capacity while praying for continued success and guidance.
