In a bid to strengthen collaboration and foster greater development in Taekwondo across the South-South region, the South-South Taekwondo Representative, Mrs. Victoria Bedeleri David, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, at his office in Benin City.
Mrs. David commended Hon. Enabulele for his numerous initiatives and outstanding contributions to sports development in Edo State. She expressed deep appreciation to the Commission for its continued support, hospitality, and the use of its facilities, which have greatly aided the growth of Taekwondo in the region.
Highlighting the success of the recent Taekwondo Championship held in Benin City, Mrs. David thanked the Commission for its assistance during the event. She further noted her dual role as the Coordinator for Taekwondo in the Nigerian University Games (NUGA) and emphasized the need for sustained collaboration with the Edo State Sports Commission to ensure the continuous hosting of major Taekwondo championships in the state.
Mrs. David also outlined the impressive medal haul recorded by South-South Taekwondo athletes, expressing optimism for continued success and stressing the importance of youth empowerment through sports.

In his response, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to supporting Taekwondo and other sporting disciplines in Edo State.
“Our focus remains on grassroots development and nurturing talents from the ground up, in line with the SHINE Agenda of His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo,” Enabulele stated.
He further emphasized the readiness of the Commission to partner with organizations and initiatives that promote youth engagement and sports excellence, noting that Edo State remains open to hosting tournaments that help discover and develop future champions.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Arthur Omoregbee Adomri, Head Coach, and Mrs. Salami Momodu, Secretary of the association.
In a related development, through a statement issued by his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele congratulated Team Edo for their outstanding performance at the 4th Edition of the Youth Empowerment Foundation Female Taekwondo Championship held in Benin City, which featured participation from eight (8) states and two (2) clubs.
Team Edo won a total of 22 medals — comprising 6 Gold, 7 Silver, and 9 Bronze.

Silver Medalists, include Constance Osaigbovo (+67kg), Judith Usifoh (-67kg). In the Under-10 Category, Osifo Confidence (Gold), Efe Agege (Silver), Gabriella Elaiho (Bronze)
