Chelsea are reportedly “pushing hard” to sign Hellas Verona midfielder Reda Belahyane, according to The Sun on Sunday.
The 20-year-old is believed to be earmarked as a replacement for Cesare Casadei, who is expected to leave the club before the January transfer window closes.
Casadei is drawing significant interest from Serie A clubs Lazio and Torino.
Chelsea are said to want £12.6 million for the Italian, who has made just six appearances this season.
Casadei is down the pecking order of midfielders in manager Enzo Maresca’s squad.
However, Chelsea could reinvest a similar sum in signing Belahyane.
The Moroccan international signed with Verona from Nice in a £420,000 deal in January 2024.
Since then, Belahyane has firmly established himself in Italy, making 20 appearances in Serie A this season.
