EPL: Guardiola reacts to being told to stay at Man City ‘forever’

Date:

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has again fuelled speculations about his future at the Premier League club.

Guardiola arrived in 2016 and has won the title in six of the last eight seasons.

During their open-top bus parade on Sunday, Guardiola was asked to stay ‘forever’ and his response couldn’t have been any more awkward.

Guardiola was asked: “At the start of next season, you will be the Premier League’s longest-serving manager. Would you just stay forever, please? Can we just get you to stay forever?”

He responded awkwardly: “Forever?! [laughs]”

Following City’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup final, it has been reported that Guardiola will walk away when his current contract expires in June 2025.
