Legendary manager Neil Warnock has said that he felt sorry for Everton boss, Frank Lampard when he took over the job at Goodison Park last season.
He, however, said that the Chelsea legend must now take responsibility after the Toffees were defeated 4-0 by Major League Soccer side Minnesota United on Thursday morning.
The Toffees’ were thrashed 4-0 by the MLS side in the early hours of Thursday and the result quickly reignited an air of despondency that clouded the Merseyside club throughout the entirety of last season.
After the game, Lampard had slammed his stars, claiming his players must show ‘fight to play in the team’ and that the drab display has given him ‘a lot to think about’.
“I don’t like listening to the words that Frank’s saying at the minute,” Warnock told talkSPORT.
“Last year, I felt a bit sorry for him if I’m honest. I didn’t think it was a job for a young man and he’s done well but he’s not had many disappointments in his career and you’ve got to learn from them.
“You’ve still got to organise your side and you can’t tell me the side he had out couldn’t have done better.”
