EPL: Iwobi targets Manchester United’s downfall in the season opener

Date:

Fulham winger Alex Iwobi is aiming for a strong start to the new Premier League season.

The Whites will open their 2024–25 campaign against Manchester United. Iwobi, who scored a decisive late goal in Fulham’s 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in February, expressed confidence and excitement ahead of their upcoming clash on Friday.

The Nigeria international emphasized that the team is ready and eager for the challenge.

“Yeah, it could be. So far, I am trying to create more. So, maybe we can do it again and create more. But it is all in the past now. It is about the present and hopefully doing it again,” Iwobi told Fulham’s official website.

“Yeah, of course, it is a great test. Man United, one of the best teams in the Premier League. It is a good challenge for us. I mean, we were able to do it last season. Hopefully, we can do it again this season and start the season strong.”

Iwobi bagged two assists in Fulham’s pre-season friendly win against Hoffenheim on Saturday.
