EPL: Man Utd boss Rangnick salutes Mata and Matic

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has praised veterans Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic.

The duo both started United’s 3-0 win over Brentford at Old Trafford on Monday, which was their final league game at home as United players.

With Mata and Matic out of contract in the summer, Rangnick admitted it was a special night for the duo.

He stated post-game, per the club website: “For Juan and Nema, they are both fantastic players with fantastic careers.

“[They have had] a few very good years here with Manchester United.

“Maybe it was their last home game we’ll have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of weeks, but if it was their last home game, then it’s also for them a special night to remember.”
