EPL: Nottingham Forest boss provides positive injury update on Awoniyi

Date:

Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper says Taiwo Awoniyi is recovering well from his injury.

Awoniyi has been sidelined with a groin injury since the start of January.

The Nigeria international was forced to leave the pitch in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win against Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium.

The 25-year-old scored the decisive goal for Forest in the game.

“Taiwo Awoniyi is progressing well, he works on the grass and comes back running. He’s not with the team yet and isn’t kicking any balls but he’s making progress which is good for him,” Cooper told reporters.

The striker has scored four goals in 16 league appearances for the Reds this season.
