EPL: Why Man City played 1-1 with Liverpool – Gaurdiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has suggested that his team played a 1-1 draw against Liverpool in Saturday’s Premier League tie because Jurgen Klopp’side defended really well Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland gave Man City a 1-0 lead in the first half.

Hower, the Reds equalized in the second half, thanks to a powerful strike from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Guardiola also said he was proud of his players.

“That was an excellent performance,” the Spainaird said.

“I am really proud that after eight years we are still playing that way.

“We were really good in all departments and needed to be against an incredible team.

“Maybe we missed the last pass a little bit but they defended really well.”
