Europa League: Man Utd finishes second in Group E, to face Barcelona, Juventus, Ajax

Date:

Manchester United have finished second in their Europa League Group E.

The Red Devils failed to clinch top spot despite a 1-0 win at Real Sociedad on Thursday.

Alejandro Garnacho scored the only goal for Erik ten Hag’s men in Spain.

But it was not enough to take them through to the Round of 16.

Instead, they will be drawn against any of the eight drop-outs in a play-off round.

That includes Barcelona, Ajax, Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting Lisbon and Juventus.

If they win the two-legged ties, the clubs will qualify for the last-16 of the competition.

Those two matches will be played on February 16 and February 23, 2023.
