FIFA World Cup: Senator Shehu Sani Begs Nigerians To Support Ghana

Date:

Former Nigeria lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has urged Nigerians to forget about how the Black Stars snatched the ticket from Super Eagles and support the four time African champions at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana edged Nigeria on away goal rule to join other four African countries in Qatar. After a 0-0 draw in Ghana, Super Eagles could not beat their Ghanaian counterparts in Abuja as the second leg of the last round ended 1-1 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

Senator Shehu Sani appealed to Nigerians to accept their fate and rally round Black Stars as the World Cup kicked off on Sunday.

He wrote, “Nigerians should support Ghana to win. I know it’s difficult to do so. They didn’t deny us the chance of going to Qatar. They simply assembled their best players and played better. I don’t know if the ones who played for us were our best. #FIFAWorldCup.”

Ghana will face Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in group H.
