Flying Eagles Resume Training Ahead Friday Third-place Match Against Tunisia

Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday resumed their training session at the 30th June Stadium, Cairo ahead of their Friday Third-place match against Tunisia.

The first training after their defeat to Gambia in the semifinal was held in the evening with the aim of shaping up ahead of their fight for bronze with Tunisia.

The seven times African champions will trade tackles with Junior Eagles of Tunisia on Friday at 4pm local time at the Cairo International Stadium, Egypt.

In the quarterfinal, Tunisia picked the world Cup ticket after beating Congo 8-7 on penalties after playing 3-3 on regulation time while Nigeria pipped Uganda 1-0 to qualify for the Semifinal and world Cup.

However, Senegal defeated Tunisia 3-0 while Nigeria lost 0-1 to Gambia in the semi-final.

Meanwhile, the final match will hold on Saturday between Senegal and Gambia. The four countries: Nigeria, Tunisia, Gambia and Senegal have qualified for FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia holding in May, 2023
