Gombe United Arrives Enugu Set for first game against El- kanemi Warriors Today

The players and technical crew of Gombe United football club have arrived Enugu ahead of the commencement of the 2020/2021 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight Playoff which will kick off with their first match against El kanemi warriors of Madugari at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium 1pm today.

After spending the night in Makurdi,Benue state, the club arrived Enugu safely at 5:30pm and headed to their hotel, where the technical adviser Aliyu Zubairu addressed the players before checking into their rooms.

Coach Aliyu Zubairu urged the players to be focused and take each game very serious, saying they have a Herculean task ahead of them.
” You know we’ve good teams to contain with, but i am very sure you guys are equal to the task, just be calmed and avoid any complacency because you know we with a mission; and the mission is to gain promotion and be the overall winners”.

The Kwara state football tactician said the quest for NPFL promotion ticket is now. ” I know we’ve made frantic efforts to reached this stage, but you guys have to do more or all our efforts would be in vain”.

The Savannah Scorpions who topped group A1 of the Northern Conference with 37 points will slog it out with El-kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri and DMD of Kwaya Kusar all from Borno state as we as NIGER TORNADOES FC, MINNA for the two NPFL promotion tickets .

The matches would be played at the Nnamdi Azikwe stadium,Enugu from Tuesday 7 to 11 September 2021
