Guardiola and Man City lose control in Premier League title race

Date:

With only a few matches remaining in the premier league, Liverpool is only a point behind Manchester City. That puts Manchester City at a delicate place although Pep Guardiola has reminded Jurgen Klopp that his men are still in control of the title race despite being held to a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.

Liverpool managed to close the gap to a single point away from Manchester City after a hard winning fight against Arsenal last Wednesday. That puts them in a position to go above Manchester City when they’ll be playing their next match after the international break. That has prompted pundits and supporters to re-evaluate their predictions for who’s likely to win the EPL title as punters continue betting on the two teams at Betway.

Guardiola has lifted the EPL trophy three times in the last four years and has reminded those on Merseyside that the Citizens are still in the driving seat. The City manager was speaking ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final match against Southampton on Sunday.

The Manchester City coach told the press that he’s still feeling confident about winning the EPL title this year as they’re going to remain atop of the table for the next 11 days. Guardiola also added that they’ll still have nine games after the international break and his men know what to do in the remaining match. However, Liverpool is set to give them a marvelous challenge and punters will be ready to wager on the remaining matches at Betway.

Liverpool has managed to cut down the Citizens lead from 11 points to one after nine successive wins in the EPL. That’s why critics have questioned the Champion’s credentials to win the title this year as they’ve slipped up twice this year and they’re still plagued with the issue of missing a recognizable striker in their squad. Nonetheless, Guardiola still believes he has a solid chance to retain the title.

Speaking to the press, Guardiola said he knows his team quite well in the last six years. He knows the good points they have and all the weak places they need to improve. Guardiola further added that his team was quite anxious in the second half when playing against crystal palace.

Liverpool is currently the only team likely to challenge the champions for the title race, although Thomas Tuchel has revealed that he’ll push Chelsea to the limit to see them join the two in the race. However, it is highly unlikely that any team will manage to outpower the two teams unless they’re both stuck in a huge mess.

Liverpool has come a long way to reach where they are in the league right now and they have a solid chance to take away the title from Manchester City. However, Jurgen Klopp will still use his men’s strength in the remaining matches for them to outwit the champions this year, but both teams can’t afford to be comfortable.
