President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to refrain from a scheduled ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest set for next month.
Various groups have reportedly planned nationwide demonstrations from August 1 to 10 to protest the escalating cost of living and economic challenges in the country.
In response to these plans, security forces are on high alert.
Tinubu, speaking through Information Minister Mohammed Idris after a meeting on Tuesday, July 23, appealed to youths to maintain trust in his administration’s ability to effect positive change in Nigeria.

He further urged protest organizers to suspend their plans pending the President’s address of their grievances.
He said: “The issue of the planned protest, Mr President does not see any need for that. He’s asked them to shelve that plan. He’s asked them to await the government’s response to all their pleas. He has listened to them.
“Young people should listen to the president, and allow him more time.”
