- Backs Eagles for success in Cote D’Ivoire
Chairman of Ifelodun local government, Hon. Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo has affirmed his full and unfledged support for Super Eagles MASCOT ( kulu Igbayilola) to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), kicking off this weekend in Cote D’Ivoire.
The kind- hearted chairman, made the disclosure in an interview in his office recently.
Okeowo emphasized the significance of the backing extended to the hard working mascot, stating that they know he’s going to make the most of the opportunity.
His words:”Our backing him stems from the fact that we know that he is going to make the best out of this. He has been a good ambassador of this our community for decades, therefore he has our full backing”.
Okeowo, who was a former footballer that played for Nigeria and was also recognised by FIFA, said he believes in the Nigeria Super Eagles team’s capabilities to perform credibly well in Africa’s most prestigious football fiesta.

Okeowo added that the collective efforts of everyone will help the team succeed. He also reiterated that for the Eagles to secure victory at the tournament is paramount. “Everyone must back the team in every aspect to ensure they achieve their goal of winning the trophy a fourth time. This is why we are playing our part to ensure the Eagles come out in flying colours” He added
The Super Eagles are in Group A, alongside host country Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea.
