I expected Henry to take Belgium job, says Real Madrid attacker Hazard

Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard is convinced Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is destined for a successful coaching career.

Hazard worked with Henry when the Frenchman was No2 to Belgium coach Roberto Martinez.

“I expected it to be Thierry Henry,” he admitted to RTBF when asked about new Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco.

“I understand the selection process, the desire to close the Martinez chapter and move on. Personally, I don’t know him. (Domenico Tedesco) I spoke about him with the 2-3 German players of Real who told me that he was a very good coach.

“He still has a Hazard in the squad so he can only do a good job (laughs).”

Hazard has announced his international retirement this month.
