Napoli’s sporting director, Cristiano Manna, has confirmed that star striker Victor Osimhen has requested to leave the club amid ongoing transfer speculation.
The 25-year-old African Footballer of the Year has been the focus of intense rumors recently.
Despite extending his contract with Napoli, which includes a substantial £110 million release clause, Osimhen has reportedly expressed a desire to end his association with the Serie A club.
Although there had been speculation about a move to Paris Saint-Germain, the transfer fell through as the French champions are no longer pursuing a new striker.

With no resolution in sight and the transfer window drawing to a close, Osimhen remains with Napoli, leaving his future uncertain.
‘Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club. He wants to go,’ Manna said according to a post from Fabrizio Romano.
‘The situation is clear, there were already chances for his exit last summer… Victor wants to leave.’
‘We will see in the next 20 days,’ the Napoli director concluded, hinting that Osimhen’s future could be resolved in the coming weeks.
